In the song "Riders on the Storm," Jim Morrison sang, "There's a killer on the road - his brain is squirmin' like a toad." That killer was allegedly William "Billy" Cook whose exploits were presented in a somewhat fictionalized form in the 1953 film "The Hitch-hiker."
